Native American quillwork artist Caroline Ravenshead, Oglala Lakota Nation, uses commercially cleaned and dyed porcupine quills to execute this perfect design.
Caroline is a skilled quill worker who attaches her quillwork to the body of the bag and then adds quilled lasts to the bottom, she finishes with long leather fringe. She hangs dyed red horse hair tufts from metal cones onto the bag and hangs one long quilled drop that ends with the same red hors hair tufts. There are also two small metal bells.
